On October 2−10 in Debrecen (Hungary) the most spectacular competition among aviation sports — World Hot-Air Balloon Championship — flights on balloons — took place. Obolon sponsored participation in competitions of 8-time champion of Ukraine Sergiy Bilorusov that manned Obolon balloon.
Aeronautics competition was held in a specific atmosphere. Competitors in the air become the best friends and consultants on the ground actively sharing their experience. In addition, pilots are always invited to visit each other to once again go up into the sky and enjoy the beauty of the nature of various continents. However, the intrigue remained until the last day of the competition, and only the final flight decided on the winner. It was the U. S. representative John Petrain.
118 pilots from 30 countries took part in this year’s competition. According to Sergiy Bilorusov, such number of participants was an absolute record. Every day of competition Debrecen citizens were fascinated with the colours in the sky. Just imagine sitting at home or in the car and watching huge multicoloured balloons floating over you one by one, says the Ukrainian pilot.
Summing up the Championship, Sergiy Bilorusov noted that this year’s competition was very spectacular, as number of young and talented participants is constantly growing, and it is a very pleasant fact. We also prepare the worthy successors, and expect to show excellent results in the future'.
Commenting on the Ukrainian sportsman’s participation Sergiy Kravets, Obolon’s Foreign Economic Relations Director, said that ballooning is a very spectacular kind of sports, which is popular in many countries. Obolon balloon attracted much attention and is a great advertisement of our products presented in 33 countries of the world'.
