НАДМIРНЕ СПОЖИВАННЯ АЛКОГОЛЮ ШКIДЛИВЕ ДЛЯ ВАШОГО ЗДОРОВ'Я

At the end of July 2010, the Obolon Corporation issued its second Social Report. The document reflects the company’s progress with respect to responsible conduct of business and sustainable development in 2009. This report draws on the best practice of systematically raising stakeholders' awareness of activities in the area of corporate social responsibility. The new Social Report of the Obolon Corporation is designed to show its consistent performance in implementing the principles of corporate social activity. The Social Report is executed in compliance with generally accepted GRI v.3 international accounting standards and meets the high B' rating. It should also be noted that Obolon has been actively participating in the U. N. Global Compact for three years now, and in accordance with requirements of this organization and the principles of corporate governance, is committed to regular accounting to the general public about its social activity. The document pays special attention to matters of responsibility for a product at all stages of its lifecycle. The social report shows that Obolon is committed to principles of responsibility for a product starting from procurements to production and marketing and all the way down to package waste recycling. In 2009 Obolon also started a publicity and education program to foster a beer consumption culture in Ukraine. In addition, the Social Report contains the results of operations in 2009, which was marked by crisis developments. Corporate social responsibility is a crucial tool for us on the way to sustainable long-term development. During the recession, despite the market disruption and sales slump we improved our financial stability, and this became possible due to implementation of the company’s sustainable development strategy,' said Olexandr Slobodyan, President of Obolon CJSC. He further added that We also strive to make it known to all the stakeholders that neither our company’s social activity nor the entire business sector can substitute for the efficient execution by the government of its obligations and authority. Thus, by paying over UAH600 million in taxes annually, Obolon cannot guarantee that the public authorities will spend them responsibly'. Olexandr Slobodyan also said: Despite all obstacles, the Obolon Corporation continues to adhere faithfully to the principles of harmonious coexistence, interaction and continuing dialogue with the public. I’m convinced that this Social Report will promote an effective dialogue between the Obolon Corporation and its employees, the wider public, government authorities and partners'.
